Fat Cat?

Read what Dr. Becker has to say about weight loss foods for kitties:

Why Feeding High Fiber Kibble to Fat Cats Defies Logic

Not only is dry kibble poor nutrition for kitties—when it’s also loaded with fiber and sold as a weight loss product, it can be doubly detrimental. Find out why a fiber-rich diet is exactly the wrong food to offer your overweight cat.

Good-bye, Michele

Michele & her little Clarice :)Spring is a time of new growth and change, and another member of our staff is leaving us to pursue a different dream.

Michele joined our pack in the fall of 2009 with her sidekick MayBelle, the puggle with the perma-grin. We know your hearts broke along with ours as MayBelle left us way too soon. She left behind a very big hole to fill, but thanks to a visit from Lakeland and an instant love connection with Michele, Clarice sprang her way into our lives as the newest (and most vocal) member of our furry greeting committee.

Besides her work behind the register, Michele was also the silent presence behind the blog, newsletters, emails, webstore, Facebook and more.

Michele with her little man, Wesley, and her smiling angel, MayBelle.

Best of luck and blessings to you, Michele! We thank you for sharing your passion for rescue, your heart for animals, and yourself with us!

An Old Irish Blessing
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind always be at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of His hand.
